Follow Your Dreams. Because your kids deserve a mother they can brag about.
This quote hit me like a ton of bricks while scrolling through Pinterest during a late night feeding with my month old baby.
As a mom of 4, I know how quickly we can lose our identity. Our world can revolve around the tiny humans we are trying to raise and it’s so easy to forget who we were before they entered our lives. When I left my career in the news business, finding a purpose outside of my children was something I stressed about. I remember my husband telling me that raising children IS a full-time job, and he is 100% right. Raising children is a full-time job, but for me I wanted something more than just wiping noses and mending sibling rivalries.
As a stay at home parent, I know there are many moms who work out of the home either because they have to or they truly love that sense of independence. I completely understand and respect that… it is hard work to have a full-time job outside of the home. I honestly don’t know how women are able to have a career while still managing the home, bills, kids extracurriculars, school work, etc. We are superheroes, for sure!
I work from home, managing this blog and running a social media marketing business. It keeps me busy and gives me a sense of identity while helping contribute financially for our family.
I’m often asked about work from home jobs, and there are a TON of options out there. Before focusing on my blog, I scoured the internet to try to find a flexible career that wasn’t working in a call center. It’s sometimes challenging to find a job that isn’t a scam!
I did a little digging and according to the Global Workplace Analytics, I found that the growth in the number of people who work regularly from home has grown by 103 percent since 2005, and 50% of the U.S. workforce holds a job that’s compatible with at least partial telecommuting. What’s more eye-opening is 80-90% would like to have a job that allows them to work from home — telecommuting could be the future for the majority of workers!
One line of work that’s widely regarded as a potential work-at-home and extremely flexible is selling real estate.
